Feminist Philosophy in the Analytic Tradition

Call For Papers:  SAF Mini-conference in conjunction with annual ESWIP Meeting

December 1-3, 2006
University of South Florida
Tampa, FL

The Society for Analytical Feminism is sponsoring an invited author meets critic session on Ann Cudd's Analyzing Oppression for this joint conference.  In addition, the Society invites submissions for the SAF mini-conference to be held in conjunction with the annual ESWIP meeting.  The Society seeks papers that examine feminist issues by methods broadly construed as analytic, or discuss the use of analytic philosophical methods as applied to feminist issues. Reading time should be about 20 minutes. Authors should submit four copies of either (1) a paper 12-14 pages, or (2) an extended abstract 2-3 pages, accompanied by a bibliography. All submissions will be anonymously reviewed; names should appear only on cover page or letter.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE:  October 1, 2006 (email or postmark)

Decisions are expected by October 15, 2006.  Questions about the conference may be emailed to Sharon Crasnow at sharon.crasnow@rcc.edu (SAF) or Shelley Wilcox at swilcox@temple.edu (ESWIP).

A separate call for papers will be issued by ESWIP.  To request a copy, email Shelley Wilcox at swilcox@temple.edu .

Note: This CFP is in addition to the annual Society CFP for the Central Division meeting.  Please note the different due date (Oct. 9 is the due date for the Central Division CFP).  If you would like your submission considered for both meetings please indicate this in your cover letter or in an email, noting clearly which meeting is your first choice.  Papers will not be accepted to both meetings.

Please send four copies of submission materials to:

Sharon Crasnow
925 Archer Street
San Diego, CA 92109

Or email one copy to: sharon.crasnow@rcc.edu
