CALL FOR PROPOSALS

THE 10th ANNUAL NORTHERN NEVADA HIGHER EDUCATION ASSESSMENT CONFERENCE

Assessment, Achievement, and Accountability

When: February 3, 2012

Where: Truckee Meadows Community College

Assessment guides our work in instruction, student services, and administration by documenting the student knowledge, skills, abilities, and beliefs that result from students’ experiences in our institutions. Effective assessment improves instruction and drives institutional change; thus, student achievement can be linked directly to institutional achievement with multiple levels of accountability. This conference will explore the ways in which we practice assessment with the goal of documenting our achievements and meet demands for accountability.

Please take this opportunity to share your work, challenges, and successes related to assessment with your colleagues in the Nevada System of Higher Education! Make a presentation or present a paper at the 10th Annual Northern Nevada Higher Education Assessment Conference on Friday, February 3, 2012.

Presentations should be 60 minutes and are welcome on topics that include the following:

  • Use of assessment findings that resulted in program modifications
  • Use of assessment findings from implemented program modifications
  • Outcomes assessment: What worked! What didn’t!
  • General Education assessment
  • Accountability and transparency: How do we communicate assessment results? How are they used?
