Deadline: February 01, 2012

CALL FOR PAPERS

WISCONSIN PHILOSOPHICAL ASSOCIATION

The Annual Meeting of the Wisconsin Philosophical Association will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

New this year: The WPA is expanding its annual meeting in order to accommodate more submissions.  The meeting will run concurrent faculty/graduate student sessions, and each session will have a commentator. The meeting will also run a few undergraduate sessions. This year’s meeting will feature a free continental breakfast for all participants, and will take place in Wisconsin’s newest academic building, Sage Hall, a state-of-the-art facility, and the most environmentally friendly and efficient building of its kind.

Submissions should adhere to the following guidelines:

• Papers can be in any area of philosophy, and should be 10-14 pages in length.

• Papers should be prepared for blind review, with the author’s name appearing only on a separate cover sheet.

• Please indicate on the cover sheet the area of philosophy addressed in the paper (e.g. epistemology, history of philosophy, philosophy of language, ethics, etc.)

• Please indicate in the e-mail whether the submission is an undergraduate submission, or a faculty/graduate submission.

• Submit papers in Word or PDF to: wpa@uwosh.edu

To encourage more discussion and also to provide time for more papers, we will once again be using our unique format.  Instead of reading the paper, presenters will be asked to provide a 20-minute summary of the paper.  This allows for more discussion and for more lively and active sessions.

Papers must be submitted by February 1, 2012

PROGRAM WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN MARCH, 2012
