The Bakhtin Centre was
founded in October 1994. Its purpose is to promote multi- and
inter-disciplinary research on the work of the Russian philosopher and
theorist Mikhail Bakhtin and the Bakhtin Circle, and on related areas of
cultural, critical, linguistic and literary theory. Its scope thus extends
beyond the limits of traditional Russian and Slavic studies. The
Centre sponsors an Email discussion list
(Bakhtin-dialogism)
and a Email news list
(Bakhtin-news),
conferences, etc.

The International Berkeley Society (founded in
1975) holds meetings, conferences, and symposia, and publishes the
results of scholarly research on both sides of the Atlantic and
brings attention and information, both old and new, about George
Berkeley and his works.

In conjunction with the Brisbane
Ethics Colloquium; holds meetings at irregular intervals. These
are sometimes held jointly with the University of Queensland Philosophy
Seminar Series.

The
British Humanist Association is the UK's leading organisation for people
concerned with ethics and society, free from religious and supernatural
dogma. It represents, supports and serves humanists in the United Kingdom
and is a registered charity with more than fifty affiliated local groups.

The BLC is a charity registered in
England & Wales (ref no 275541). Its objects are to advance the
education of the public within Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the
study of formal or mathematical logic and other subjects in so far as they
relate to such logic.

The society has the
following current functions:

The aims of the British Society for
the History of Mathematics are to promote research into the history of
mathematics and its use at all levels of mathematics education. It does this
through meetings, a newsletter and by other means. The BSHM takes in all
periods and civilizations, and all aspects of mathematics, both pure and
applied. Members come from a broad cross-section of those interested in
mathematics, its history and education, and from many countries. The
Society sponsors a Newsletter.

The Society publishes a quarterly
journal of philosophy of science. The journal has its own
page, including details of contents
for recent issues.

The Foundation publishes a Hindi quarterly Buddhiwadi (The
Rationalist), and brings out Buddhiwadi Newsletter in English as an
occasional publication.
The Foundation maintains the Buddhiwadi Study and Research Center, a
reference library of rationalist, humanist, atheist and secularist
literature -- books, booklets and journals, etc. -- in Hindi and English.
The Foundation runs an institute – Priya Academy – for promoting
computer literacy and scientific outlook.
