The Thomas Instituut Utrecht
offers a forum for scholarly communication of research into the
Thought of Thomas Aquinas. This is achieved by four ways:
- The Thomas Instituut
Utrecht organizes Symposia.
- The Thomas Instituut
Utrecht publishes a Yearbook (Jaarboek). The Yearbook intends
to be the means of publication and communication of the
results of study either by members of the institute, or by
those with research interests either in the study of Thomas
Aquinas or in medieval theology and philosophy.
- The Thomas Instituut
Utrecht has its own Series of Publications, in cooperation
with Peeters Publishers, Louvain (Belgium).
- The Thomas Instituut
Utrecht maintains a Website on the Internet.

The activities of the Society will include
providing financial support for The
Institute of Practical Philosophy, which in turn is involved
in the promotion and presentation of educational activities such
as workshops, panel discussions, lectures, presentations to public
groups, schools, and civic organizations in order:
(a) to promote an interdisciplinary educational
approach to complex social problems by
cooperation with several existing educational community groups,
other educational societies,
local schools, and Malaspina University-College;
(b) to promote the use of philosophical
reasoning and philosophical theories in the resolution
of social problems;
(c) to provide a forum for workshops,
lectures, discussion groups, and other educational
methods for stimulating the interplay of theory and practice
within contemporary society;
(d) to promote such further or other
educational purposes as may conveniently or
advantageously be combined with the existing purposes of the
society.
The Society sponsors a Newsletter.

tolerance and respect for the rights of the individual as
exemplified by the life of Voltaire and as reflected in the
beliefs of his contemporaries, the founders of the United States.
Projects now include the presentation of
lectures and the creation of educational materials such as a video
on Voltaire and Jefferson, development of a French version of such
materials in conjunction with groups in Ferney, and cooperation
with other cultural and educational organizations in furtherance
of such goals.
