Wiener Gesellschaft für interkulturelle Philosophie
"... Wiener Gesellschaft, um der unvermeidlichen Orthaftigkeit der Ortlosigkeit unseres Unterfangens Ausdruck zu verleihen - um es mit Mall zu sagen -, also um den Ort zu nennen, an dem die Fäden, wenn schon nicht zusammen- (es ist ja kein zentralistisches Gespinst sondern ein dezentrales Gewebe), so doch durch-laufen."

World Transhumanist Association
Transhumanism advocates the use of technology to overcome our biological limitations and transform the human condition. At the present time or in the near future, human capabilities will be extended through such means as genetic engineering, memory-enhancing drugs, collaborative information-filtering, smart agents, intelligence amplification, wearable computers, and the Internet. In the slightly longer term, the accelerating pace of technological development opens up such revolutionary prospects as superhuman artificial intelligence and molecular nanotechnology. The consequences of these developments may include: the abolition of disease; the elimination of aging; the enrichment of our reward-centers so we enjoy a wider diversity of emotions, exhilarating peak experiences and life-long well-being; and perhaps the gradual replacement of human bodies with synthetic enhancements. Or by contrast, it could mean that intelligent life goes extinct, maybe as the result of an accidental or deliberate misuse of powerful weapons technologies such as self-replicating nanomachine viruses. These are extreme possibilities. Yet they are taken seriously by an increasing number of scientists and scientifically-literate philosophers.

The Xavier Zubiri Foundation of North America
Spanish philosopher Xavier Zubiri (1898-1983) is one of the most profound thinkers of the 20th century. Solidly grounded in the history of philosophy, theology, linguistics, modern science, and the foundations of mathematics, Zubiri speaks to the present but even more to the future. Working closely with the Fundación Xavier Zubiri in Madrid, the Foundation seeks to make his work more widely known in North America. The Foundation also works in cooperation with Zubiri scholars in other countries.
