The Canadian Society for Hermeneutics and Postmodern Thought was founded in 1984 to further the study of Continental philosophy in Canada and abroad. Its membership includes scholars and students working in the various Continental traditions -- including classical German philosophy, phenomenology, existential philosophy, hermeneutics, critical theory, poststructuralism, deconstruction, postmodernism, and feminism -- as well as in related disciplines within the arts, humanities, and social sciences.
"Symposium is simply the best Canadian journal of philosophy. It has established an enviable international reputation for its contributions to contemporary Continental philosophy." -- JAMES MENSCH, Professor of Philosophy, St. Francis Xavier University
