NOW cofounder, Sonia Pressman Fuentes, presented her talk, “From Immigrant to Feminist: My Role in the Women’s Rights Movement,” to a full house on Oct. 8, 2002, at the Takoma Park campus, kicking off the Women’s Studies Speaker Series. According to Esther Schwartz-McKinzie, Women’s Studies Coordinator, Fuentes was met with applause and questions from MC students, who were moved by her analysis of what it means to be an immigrant in America and by her call to personal and political action.
NOW cofounder Sonia Pressman
Fuentes answers questions from students, while signing
her book, Eat First -- You Don't Know What They'll Give You, The
Adventures of an Immigrant Family and Their Feminist Daughter.
